Vivat Academia is a scientific journal that aims to publish original and unpublished scientific research and focuses on various thematic areas that are classified by UNESCO codes and the Universal Decimal Classification (UDC). Therefore, its target audience is researchers and academics who contribute with their work to the advancement of knowledge in these fields of knowledge. These codes provide a more precise reference to the topics covered by the journal:

 

  • UNESCO Code 531101: Refers to Corporate Communication. It includes subjects such as organisational communication, public relations, reputation management and internal communication in companies and institutions.

  • UNESCO Code 591002: Related to Social Communication. It covers subjects such as interpersonal communication, media, public opinion and audience studies.

  • UNESCO Code 611401: This code covers Political Communication. It covers subjects related to communication in the political sphere, including electoral communication, political propaganda, public opinion and governmental communication.

  • Universal Decimal Classification 378.4: This classification is used in libraries to categorise subjects related to Higher Education. It includes subjects such as university education, educational planning, curricula and management of academic institutions.

  • Universal Decimal Classification 654.19: This code refers to Broadcasting. It covers subjects related to the transmission and broadcasting of radio programmes, both technically and in terms of content. It includes subjects such as radio programme production, radio station management, programming and content scheduling, as well as the study of radio as a means of communication and its influence on society.

  • Universal Decimal Classification 659: This classification is used for topics related to Advertising and Marketing. It covers topics such as advertising strategy, market research, product promotion and brand management.

The journal is bilingual Spanish/English. The official language of the journal is Spanish, although contributions in the original language English, French, Italian and Portuguese are accepted.

From 2021 onwards it will be published on a rolling basis, with articles being uploaded individually as the editorial process is completed in open access electronic format. Articles submitted to Vivat Academia cannot have been simultaneously submitted to another journal for review.

It is a peer-reviewed journal, using the double-blind peer review system, in accordance with the publication standards of the American Psychological Association (APA 7th). This review method guarantees impartial, objective and transparent arbitration, which facilitates the article's inclusion in databases, repositories and international reference indexes.

This journal uses the Open Journal System, which is free journal management and publishing software developed, supported, and freely distributed by the Public Knowledge Project under the GNU General Public License.
